What Is Life Atlas® Consulting?

Life Atlas® is a suite of research-backed tools rooted in Carl Jung's model of psychological type, designed to help you understand how you're naturally gifted — and where those gifts can take you. As a Certified Life Atlas Consultant, I guide you through these tools and help you translate the insights into clarity and next steps, whether that's choosing a major, considering a career change, or simply better understanding yourself.
 

This isn't a one-size-fits-all personality test. It's a process of genuine self-discovery — one that helps you recognize gifts that you may have overlooked (even ones that felt more like quirks than gifts) and points you toward paths where those gifts can truly flourish.

The Life Atlas Tools

  • Gifts Compass Inventory® (GCI)  The GCI is an online self-assessment, grounded in C.G. Jung's model of psychological type, used by psychologists and counselors around the world. It helps you identify your "superpower" — the gifts that come most naturally to you — including strengths you may not have fully recognized as gifts before. Many people carry traits they've seen as distractions or quirks (like a tendency to daydream) without realizing these can be genuine clues to real creative or imaginative strengths.​

  • Discover Your Passion  This assessment builds on your GCI results to help clarify the work and pursuits that align with your gifts, your interests, and your most deeply held values. It's especially useful for connecting self-insight to real-world direction — whether that's a college major, a career path, or a next chapter in your professional life.

What to Expect

Format:  Sessions are held over Zoom for convenience and flexibility

Process:  You'll complete the relevant online assessment(s), and then we'll meet to walk through your results together, explore what they reveal, and discuss how to apply the insights to your specific questions and goals

 

Personalized: Sessions are tailored to your reason for seeking consulting — whether that's college and career clarity, a professional transition, or general self-understanding

 

Investment: GCI Consulting = $150/hour;  DYP Consulting = $150/hour

Hi, I'm Barry! PCT is my company. I am a lifelong educator. I'm a Certified Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP) Facilitator, trained and certified through the VIA Institute on Character, and a Certified Professional Life Coach and member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).  I do this work because I've experienced the profound benefits of these practices in my own life, and I believe sharing this with others is the best service I can offer.

  • What's the difference between the GCI and Discover Your Passion? The GCI focuses on identifying your natural gifts — the strengths that come most easily to you. Discover Your Passion builds on that foundation to help you identify work and paths that align with those gifts, your interests, and your values. Many clients start with the GCI and move into Discover Your Passion once they have a clearer picture of their gifts.

  • Do I need to do both assessments? Not necessarily. We can start with whichever tool best fits your current question, and add the other later if it would be helpful.

  • Is this only for students? Not at all. While I have a particular passion for helping young adults navigate college and career decisions, these tools are valuable for anyone — including professionals considering a change and people simply looking for deeper self-understanding.

  • How is this different from other personality assessments I may have taken? Unlike many typology tools, the Gifts Compass Inventory places a strong emphasis on your process of individuation — the lifelong process of integrating all parts of who you are, not just labeling a "type." It's designed to support your ongoing growth, not just describe you.

  • What if I can't afford $150/hour? A sliding scale is available. Please reach out directly and confidentially to discuss options.
